Mr. Glenn Allen Hyatt, 88, of Greensboro, departed this life on Sunday, March 27, 2016.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Sandra Ireson officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service and other times at the home of Thomas Hyatt, 600 Catalina Dr., Greensboro, NC 27403.
Glenn was born on July 1, 1927 in Surry County to the late Jessie and Laura Jane Hyatt. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Air Force and worked in construction after his service in the military. He liked taking walks, engaging in various topics of conversation, and loved to fish. Glenn never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Bessie Laverne Hyatt; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
He is survived by his sons, Glenn Thomas Hyatt and wife Michelle of Liberty, Larry Donnell Hyatt and wife Susan, Ricky Allen Hyatt and wife Barbara, and Thomas Allen Hyatt and wife Kathy, all of Greensboro; 2 brothers, Robert Odell Hyatt of Greensboro and Paul Hyatt of Climax; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephew and extended family.
