Gordon Sandau, 86, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. Gordon was born September 14, 1923. He met his wife, Lois, in Greeley, CO. In 1945, the Sandau's went to Fort Worth to attend the Baptist seminary. The Sandau's were pastors and missionaries for 65 years. They pastored churches in North Dakota and Anchorage, AK. They were child evangelism directors of Longs Peak District in Fort Collins, CO. Gordon and Lois were also traveling missionaries for many years. Their favorite place was Jamaica. For many years they went with the Christian Chiropractors Association. While the families received medical care, they would minister to the children with puppets and music and stories of Jesus. They reached thousands of children and adults for the Lord. They moved to Texas four years ago to be near their family. Gordon never had a bad day. He knew that God could fix every problem. He never complained or never lost his joy. He would just say, "Give it to God." Wow. We rejoice as he is now with dear wife, Lois, and in the arms of Jesus. But we know we will see him again. Praise God. The Rev. Gordon Sandau is survived by his daughters; Sheri Moose of Pflugerville, TX. and Brenda Jackson of North Richland Hills, TX; son, Tim Sandau of Fort Collins; grandchildren Ryan Peterson, Darryl Jackson, Yvonne Irby, Thomas Sandau and Wilson Moose; and great-grandchildren Josh Irby, Grace Irby, Nathaniel Peterson and Elisha Peterson. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 7th from 9:30am to 11:00am at Resthaven Funeral Home with a Funeral Service following at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
