Grace "Lorraine" Rummel, 91, formerly of Muncie, passed away on March 15, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle, IN. She was born on April 15, 1923, in Knoxville, TN to Roy and Pearl Walden who preceded her in death. On May 15, 1954, she married Paul Rummel, who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Paul) Boehm of Edwardsburg, MI; son, Fred (Nancy) Rummel of North Webster, IN; daughter-in-law Kathie Rummel of Knightstown, IN; grandson Grant (Tara) Rummel, Indianapolis; granddaughter Kate Rummel, Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren Dillon Gondocs, New Carlisle and Harper and Finn Rummel, Indianapolis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-son, John Rummel; granddaughter, Sara Gondocs; sister Chrystine Wirthlin and brother Lloyd Walden. She worked many years as a Private Secretary to Abbott Johnson at Warner Machine in Muncie. Lorraine was well known for her singing and entertained countless people with her beautiful soprano voice. Lorraine was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Muncie, singing in the choir and as a soloist at Gethsemane as well as numerous other churches in the area. She performed in several musicals at Muncie Civic Theatre and participated in the Elks Follies for many years. Early in her musical career, she was a member of a trio known as The Three Tones who won first place in the local WLW Star Search held at the Rivoli Theatre in Muncie. She was an avid bowler, and for years bowled on multiple leagues at the Muncie Bowling Center. In addition, Lorraine loved gardening, preparing fabulous meals for family and friends, and playing cards, particularly Euchre at the neighborhood pool. And most of all, she loved her family and they loved her. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to celebrate Lorraine's life.
