Grant Thomas Hromas October 5, 1966 - September 5, 2017 Grant Hromas, 50, from Albany, passed Tuesday. The son of Wayne and Jo Ellen (Kropp), Grant was born in Albany where he lived his entire life. Grant attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School, Calapooia Junior High, and South Albany High School. He graduated in 1985. After graduation, Grant completed a plumbing apprenticeship through Chemeketa Community College. For many years, Grant was a journeyman plumber. He was athletic and loved playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was quite a short stop! Growing up, Grant spent many days in Detroit, camping and water skiing. He had a caring heart and was quick to offer help to friends in need. He was “man’s best friend” to his dogs, Rebel and Sadie. He married Christina (Trudell) in 1991. They later separated. Grant will be missed. He is survived by his parents; his children, Hunter, Alice, and Erica; granddaughter, Lilliana; his brother, Graem; his sister, Gina, and her husband, Rod Jantzi; his nieces, Kennedy and Presley Jantzi; and his special friend, Belinda Bowman. There will be a Celebration of Life from 2-4pm on Saturday, September 16, at Rod and Gina Jantzi’s house, 1040 SW 39th Ave, Albany. In celebration of Grant’s love of sports, you are invited to wear your favorite sports jersey/shirt.
