Jane had a brother, "Bobby", born just 11 months after her, and they enjoyed a happy childhood together in Lakewood, CO. Jane graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1957 with a degree in Education.

Jane married Joe L. Thompson, the love of her life, in 1957, and they had a wonderful life together for 50 years. After semi-retiring in the mid 90's, Jane and Joe enjoyed their lake house in Fort Gibson, OK, where they spent many wonderful times with family and friends.

Jane is survived by her son, Scott Thompson of Oklahoma City; daughter, Shelly Benson and her husband, John, of Englewood, CO; five grandchildren, Hannah Dean and her husband, Curry, of Jones, OK, Cody Thompson and his wife, Julianne, of New Orleans, LA, Andrew Benson of Fort Collins, CO, Katie Benson of Denver, CO, and Melanie Benson of Denver, CO; and two great granddaughters, Mae Dean and Birdie Dean.

Jane was adored by her family and many friends. She was active in her church and loved spending time with her family and her beloved pets. She was also a voracious reader and an avid bridge player.
