Harold Brand, 97, formerly of Elk Creek Road died peacefully Tuesday May 15, 2018 after a brief stay at Coral Trace Health Care Center in Cape Coral, FL.
He was born October 10, 1920 in Brooklyn son of the late George and Marie Goetz Brand. Harold was a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Air Force having served in World War II, and again in the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacfic Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Distinguished Unit Badge. He had been an Operations Supervisor at the Newburgh Social Security Office, and retired in 1982 as the Assistant Manager of the Dutchess County office. He was predeceased by his wife Albertine Streeter .

A Service to celebrate the Life of Harold will be held on Sunday at 3pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. A graveside committal service will be 9:30am on Monday at the Bedell Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home.
