Harold Dean Lemons, 83, of Whitney passed away September 22, 2017 at his home.



Harold was born March 9,1934 in Sherman to Ely and Mary (Jackson) Lemons. Because his dad was a ranch foreman Harold grew up on different ranches across Texas and that is why he loved the outdoors and working livestock. On December 21, 1963 he married Loretta Robinson Riggs in Fort Worth at her parents' home officiated by Dr. Fred White and attended by their six children. He retired from Texas Instruments after thirty-two years. Then he and Loretta traveled for seventeen years seeing national parks. The last seven years were spent at Black Rock Ranger Station in Wyoming. He was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church where he was involved with the youth, who meant the world to him.



Preceding him in death were his parents, infant daughter Sharon Kay, 2 sons Jerry Bob and Gary Dale Riggs and brother James Lemons.



Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Loretta Lemons, four daughters, Diane Lemons, Karen Hill and husband Cliff, Brenda Cox and husband Wayne, Deretta Lichtenstein, daughter-in-law Myra Riggs, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and brother, Denny Lemons.
