(Hamilton) Harold F.Libby, Jr. died peacefully at Beverly Hospital Oct. 17, one week shy of his 89th birthday. Born 10/23/22 in Waterville, Maine, Harold was the son of Harold F. and Miriam (Roberts) Libby. He was a graduate of Waterville High School and Coburn Classical Institute, where he developed an interest in electronics and automotive repairs. Harold was also a World War 2 veteran, having served in the Signal Corps in India and Burma.

In his younger years, Mr. Libby worked for General Electric in Lynn and Brighton. He lived in Lynn for a short time before moving to Hamilton, where he lived for 50 years. Harold enjoyed fixing televisions, radios, cars and almost any gadget in his spare time. He was also a coach, and the equipment manager for the Hamilton-Wenham Little League for a few years.

Harold is survived by a son, Stephen F. Libby and his wife Susan C. Libby of Beverly, a daughter Dr. Margaret A. Libby of Wilson, N.Y., three great-grandchildren Margaret Knowles, Christine Knowles and Mark Knowles of Beverly, a sister-in-law Katherine (Reilly) Peckenham of Bangor, ME, and many other wonderful relatives, friends and neighbors.

He was also the husband of the late Martha (Reilly) Libby, who passed away in 1992.

Funeral services will be at the Redington Funeral Home in Waterville, Maine at 1 PM on Thursday October 20 followed by a graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Beverly YMCA, Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915.
