Harris Junior Stegemiller, 75, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away peacefully in the company of his family at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 29th, 2015 at his home after a brief illness. Harris was born in Ohio County, IN on September 2, 1939, a son of the late Leona (Nienhiser) Stegemiller and Harris Louis Stegemiller, Sr. He was raised in Ohio County and was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1957. Harris began work in 1958 at Seagrams Distillery in Lawrenceburg, IN. After retiring from Seagrams in 2003, his full attention turned to farming. Harris was a member of the Rising Sun First United Church of Christ. On February 12, 1960 he married Margaret Hughes Stegemiller who survives him. Harris and Margaret were married over 55 years.

In addition to his loving wife Margaret, Harris is also survived by a daughter, Sharon Lucas and husband Bill, of Rising Sun, IN; two sons Jeff Stegemiller and wife Jamie, of Rising Sun, IN; Joe Stegemiller and wife Cynthia, of Rising Sun, IN; by grandchildren, Chris Flood (Brooke), Stefanie Buchanan (Josh), Adam Stegemiller, Kasie Short (Keith), Jodie Woods (Jeremy), Daryl Stegemiller, & Nick Campanello and by great grandchildren; Logan, Clayton, Lily, Danielle, Allana, Alyssa, & Matthew; by a brother, Norman Stegemiller and wife Linda, of Rising Sun, IN.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Thursday, April 2 at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN
Friends are invited to call Wednesday 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be to Dearborn County Hospice or the Rising Sun First United Church of Christ. marklandfuneralhome.com
