Harry Bauman, 102, of Heritage Club, Greenwood Village, Colo., died Feb. 6, 2018, after a short illness. He was born Sept. 7, 1915, in St. John, Kan. He was the son of William Henry Bauman and Effie Mae Beaman who preceded him in death. He graduated from Fowler High School with the class of 1932 and started farming soon after. Harry dryland farmed northwest of Fowler from 1936, until his retirement in 1972, at which time he moved to Pueblo, Colo. He moved to Heritage Club in 2013, in an assisted living capacity, before moving to skilled nursing the next year. He is survived by his sons, Donald (Marilyn) Bauman of Wilmington, Del. and Glenn (Janice) Bauman of Centennial, Colo.; four grandchildren, Andy, Alisa, Mark and Amber; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Elmina, who passed in 2011; and daughter, Gloria Jean, who passed as an infant in 1945. Two sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death. Harry was very involved in each community he resided. He was on the search/building committee for the new Fowler High School which was occupied in 1965, and he spent time on the board of the Fowler Coop Association. Once retired, he delivered Meals-On-Wheels for many years. He also did volunteer work at the Pueblo Historical Society and farmers markets in Pueblo. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, 1 p.m. at Fowler Cemetery.
