BLOOMINGTON - Harry Michael Raffety, age 58, of Bloomington passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born February 15, 1959 in Bloomington, the son of Harry and Eloise Woodburn Raffety. He married Nancy Wilke on November 26, 1988 in Bloomington. She survives.
Harry most recently worked as a cook at Olive Garden in Bloomington, after spending 17 years as a cook at Carlos O'Kelly's. Harry was an avid hunter and especially loved fishing at Lake Evergreen. Harry enjoyed being a ranger at the Boy Scouts' high adventure camp at Cache Lake, Canada, and was a member of the Eagle Scouts. Harry was also known as a big Clash of Clans fan, and enjoyed watching movies.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by a son, Joshua Raffety of Hudson; three brothers, Donald (Stacie) Raffety of Rock Hill, SC; Danial (Yvonne) Raffety of Olathe, KS; and Jeffrey (Sharley) Raffety of Gridley; a sister, Sherri (Marvin) Freund of Brentwood, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 14th at 10 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, with Dr. Vincent Kobosh officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, June 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
