Harry W. Stevens ORANGE- Harry W. Stevens, 82, of 212 Dana Road and formerly of 126 West Main Street, died on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Athol Memorial Hospital, following an illness. Born on August 11, 1928 in Athol, he was a son of Stanley S. and Alice B. (Towne) Stevens. Harry was married to Laura (Denton), who predeceased him on December 13, 1991. Employed by the former Union Twist Drill in Athol for many years, Harry had also owned and operated Friendly Town Cab in Orange with his wife for many years and enjoyed driving his cab and listening to his customers. He served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Orange American Legion. Survivors include his children, Carlton, Allen, Gary, Brian, Jay, Ellen, Sharon, and April; and many grandchildren. Besides his wife Laura, he was predceased by brothers, Henry, Walter, Oscar, and Albert. There are no calling hours. There will be a memorial service at a later date and time to be announced. Interment in South Cemetery, Orange, will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Special Olympics of Massachusetts, West Section Office, 898 Prospect Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
