Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Harvey L. Foreman of Abilene, TX was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on July 16, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m., Friday July 29, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene with burial following in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Harvey was born in Strong, Arkansas on July 8, 1954. He graduated from Santa Maria High School in June 1972 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in December 1973. After completion of basic training, he went to technical training at Chanute AFB, Illinois. Chief Foreman began his career as an Aircraft Propulsion Specialist at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, where he worked on F-4 Phantom Jets. His other assignments included Norton AFB, California; George AFB, California; Kunsan AB, Korea; Travis AFB, California; Geilenkirchen AB, Germany; Incirlik AB, Turkey; and twice at Dyess AFB, returning in January 1996. He was the Chief Enlisted Manager of the 317th Maintenance Squadron and 317th Airlift Group. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Foreman in 1995; and wife, Belinda Foreman in 2009, both of Santa Maria, California. Survivors include his mother, Vivian Gatewood of Santa Maria, CA; son, Michael A. Foreman and wife, Juanita of Abilene; brother, Jerold Foreman of Paso Robles, CA; two sisters, Cathy Stewart of Riverside, CA and Patty Hermenegildo of Nipomo, CA; grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua, and Daymion Foreman, Sabrina Juarez, and Zachary and Zoey Mendez all of Abilene; and great-grandchildren, Paisely Foreman, De'Anthony Hodge, and Ayianna and Zayriah Foreman.
