Hazel Burris Cain, 97, a resident of McComb, died April 16, 2009 at McComb Nursing and Rehab. She was born October 29, 1911 in Smithdale, MS. She was the daughter of John H. and Fannie Alford Burris. She was a retired teacher and was retired from Kellwood Company. She was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church in McCall Creek.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George M. Cain and two brothers, Wilton E. Burris and J.A. Burris.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia C. Randall of McComb; one son, Dr. G. Douglas Cain of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, David Russell Edwards and wife, Kim and Pamela E. Moore and husband, Brian and two great-grandsons, Erik Edwards and Ryan Edwards; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Burris of the Thompson community; Maimo Cain Welch of Beltsville, MD and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Wednesday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb from 9AM until 11AM with graveside services at noon at Concord Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. James Case officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Cain's grandsons and nephews.
