The world lost a shining star with the passing of Kenne Driver on April 12, 2017. She lived an amazing life of 94+ years, during which she always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She was born Hazel Kingsbury, but everyone who knew her called her Kenne. She will be sorely missed by her daughter, Karen Driver Gaffney, her grandchildren, Jessica Elyse Saadut and her husband Wahed Saadut, Brian Gaffney and their father Michael Gaffney. During her lifetime she was a Navy nurse in World War II, where she met and married the love of her life, Troy Driver. She was a 4th degree black belt in Karado, a gourmet cook, a loving wife to her husband, the best mom and Nana ever to her child and grandchildren and a friend to everyone she met. She studied the religions of the world and found spiritual guidance from Pastor Roger Browning and Pastor John Fisk who were not only her spiritual guides but also her dear friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Bruce Campbell and his superb nursing and office staff for their amazing medical care and the love and tenderness they showed her. Thank you to Hospice of the Piedmont, especially Molly, Lisa, Barbara, Allen, and Nancy Perkins for making her last days comfortable and her death a peaceful passage. And finally thank you to Life Alert and the Greene County Rescue Squad for their quick and compassionate responses to her emergencies. She was grateful to you all and loved you for your caring and assistance.

She lived her life to the very fullest, on her own terms and she died peacefully in her home the way she wanted. We will all remember her with love and miss her greatly.

A memorial service will be conducted 10:00am Monday, April 17, 2017 at Maple Grove Christian Church, 3210 Proffit Road with Pastor Roger Browning officiating. A private burial took place at Maple Grove Cemetery.
