Hazel Joan Pate, 89, of Queen Creek, AZ, passed away April 20, 2017. She was born November 20, 1927 in Cross Plains, TX to Homer and Loree [Williams] Burnett. Hazel was born deaf and was the fund raising Chairperson for the Texas School for the Deaf.
Hazel had a very strong Christian faith; she was an avid bowler in her early 40s, and won many trophies participating in tournaments; she even enjoyed crocheting. Her greatest joy in life was the time she had with her children and grandchildren and she was very big in to family photos.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vernon Pate; daughter, Pamela Werthen; sister, Frances Todd; brothers, Glen, Richard and Roy Burnett and her granddaughter, Trisha. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Cuellar and her husband John, Linda Morado, Debbie Martinez and her husband Steve; son, Patrick Morado; grandchildren, Gina, John, James, Tom, Lisa, Mikie, Alex, Melissa, Daniel, Jonathan, Angela, Christina, Stevie and Stephanie and well as her great grandchildren, John, Mariah, Chris, T.J., Joshua, Eric, Emily, Isabella, Elijah, Anthony, Mercedes, Alyssa, Alex, Rosemary, Tommy, Nicholas, Grace, Rebecca, Timothy, Nevaeh, Keyra, Isaiah, Danny, Domenic, Benicio, Nathaniel, Josiah, Michael, Amaya, Israel, Abby, Ariella, Aiden and Evan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, May 5, 2017 with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will immediately follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care
