Helen Faye Francis (Stewart), formerly of Abilene, TX, went to be with her Lord on September 3, 2016 at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, TX. Helen was most recently a resident of College Station, TX, where she lived with her daughter & son-in-law, Melissa and Doug Hayes.
Helen was born to Elbert Roy Stewart and Muncy Faye Stewart (Harrison) on February 9, 1933 in Anson, TX. After her mother passed at an early age from TB, Helen was raised at the Hendrick Home for Children in Abilene, TX. She attended Abilene High School, where she continued her sweet relationships with friends throughout her life. She married George Lynn Francis III on May 9, 1953, in Abilene, TX. Helen and G.L. were our precious example of love and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Susie Power; and brothers, Charles Stewart and Kenneth Stewart. Her beautiful life will be cherished forever in the lives of her children, Melissa and husband, Doug Hayes of College Station, TX, and Su-Zan and husband, Donald Sellars of Chico, TX; and her grandchildren, Jerad and Lauryn Hayes of Humble, TX, Shay and Matt Purcell of College Station, TX, Ashley and Joshua Burr of Weatherford, TX, and Terah and Kyle Clifton of Midland, TX. She was a devoted GG to her precious great-grandchildren - who are the light of her life - Jackson & Adelaide Purcell, Tucker Clifton, and Sage Burr. She had a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved beyond measure. There will never be another "Granny" in all the world. She left a little piece of her heart and made life long friends in Canada, Singapore, Australia, Venezuela, Malaysia, Thailand, England and Scotland. She loved her family and friends with a love that can never be replaced. Our joy comes in the knowledge that we will see her again - "For God so loved the world that he gave His Only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16.
Family visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday September 9, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, TX.
