Helen Louise (Wellman) Finch, age 87, of Lincoln, died on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Homestead Rehabilitation Hospital. She was born in Edinboro, PA on July 10, 1929 to Clyde and Blanche (Colvin) Wellman. She lived by her faith in God, her love of family and work, and her devotion to her church.

Helen was a Registered Nurse for fifty years, twenty-five of which were spent at Tabitha Rehabilitation Hospital. She retired from there as the Night Nursing Supervisor in 2006. She spent 12 years in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa as a missionary nurse. While there, she worked with a leper colony, delivered approximately 300 babies and shared her faith. In 1981, she joined Calvary Community Church. For the next twenty years, she was in charge of a bus route that picked up children and took them to Sunday School. She would go out on Saturdays, knock on every door to invite the children to church, and return on Sundays to pick them up. Helen was a selfless woman who would never hesitate to assist anyone that needed her help.

Helen is survived by her son Arne and his wife Angela; four grandchildren Chelsea McGrath, Brandy Finch, Madelyn Finch, and Ethan Finch; three great-grandchildren Melayna Finch, Sadie McGrath and Dakota Howard Jr.; brother Herbert Budd; several nieces and nephews.
