Hilda Mae "Penny" Bumgardner, 86, of Advent, passed away February 11, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West.
Penny was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her generous nature and love of crocheting was well known to those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William "Red" Bumgardner, Sr.; parents, Arnold Wilbur and Gladys Dillard Pennington; sister, Carol Jean Hall; brother, Thomas "Dudley" Pennington; and daughter-in-law, Tommie Lee Williams-Bumgardner.
Survivors include her loving sons, Charles William Bumgardner, Jr. of North Charleston, Terry (Karen) Bumgardner of Cross Lanes and Larry (Lois) Abshire of Big Chimney; uncle, Garland (Ginny) Dillard of VA; grandchildren, Charles William Bumgardner, III, Synetta (Todd) Harlan and Larry Paul (Laura) Abshire; great-grandchildren, Zackary Abshire, Colton Bumgardner and Cailyn Bumgardner. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Abshire officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery, Charleston.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
