Mr. Homi Gorakhpurwalla (aka Mr. G, Professor G and G-dad) passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2017. Born August 5, 1937, he would have been 80 in just a few weeks. We know he is now with his wife (Anita F Gorahkpurwalla 1942-2005), who he adored and has grieved over everyday since we lost her. He leaves behind devoted children, son and daughter-in-law Ashley and Vicki Gorakhpurwalla, daughter and son-in-law Catherine and Dave Savage, and four adoring grandchildren, Hayden Warzek (23), Julia Savage (16), Grant Gorakhpurwalla (9), and Olivia Gorakhpurwalla (7). Also mourning his passing are his sisters, and nieces and nephews.

Homi was a real 'American Dream' story. He was born in India and immigrated to America, as a student to Purdue University, with nothing but his brain, his values and his willingness to work hard. He lived his dream job as a long time Electrical Engineering professor at Texas A&I (now A&M) University, where he cared for and challenged so many students in his almost 40 year career. He taught his children to deeply value family (extended as well), stand on their own, work hard for what they wanted/needed, and to speak thoughtfully. He was a gentle soul, a quiet voice of wisdom, a passionate teacher, a deeply devoted husband, a wonderful constant father and the sweetest granddad!

He will be terribly missed by so many, but his influence, values and gentleness will live on in all who knew him.
