"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 There is a time to be born… Hosea Gibbs, III was born on September 5, 1961 in Florence County to Hosea Jr. and Earline Carter Gibbs. There is a time to be educated… Hosea was educated in the public schools in Florence County. He is also a graduate of Hampton University where he earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration. May the work I've done speak for me... At an early age, Hosea joined Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Effingham, South Carolina. He was a Hospital Corpsman for the United States Navy, where he had the opportunity to travel the world. He had the privilege of living in Georgia, Texas and Maryland before permanently returning to Florence, South Carolina. There is a time to love… Hosea leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Charitta McNeil Cooper (Casey); grandsons, Jared Christopher and Jamison Ethan Cooper; special companion, Gloria Samuel; play children who were very dear to his heart, Dominque, Norris, Bryson, Morgan and Bree Hall; two sisters, Delphine Gibbs and Kathy Gibbs of Pamplico, SC; aunts, Virginia Brooks and Elma Lee McAllister, both of Pamplico, SC; Mary Magaline Lewis of Washington, DC and Odessa Barnes of Maryland; one uncle, Ernest Gibbs, Sr. (Gwendolyn) of Pamplico, SC; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
