Ida Mae Leszczewski, 92, passed on to her greatest reward at 3:10am on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Ida was born to Lee E. LaFaver and Helen (Hardinger) LaFaver on May 3, 1921 in Sullivan County, Missouri. Ida moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1936. On July 24, 1937, she married Frank Leszczewski Sr.. Frank and Ida moved their family to Mishawaka, Indiana in 1954. In 1955, Ida started working at Ball Band and worked there for 14 years. She then worked at Michiana Merchandise, starting in 1972 and worked there until she retired in 1987. Ida enjoyed many activities including being a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the churches Friendship Circle. She also had a great passion for genealogy, traveling, camping and caring for her flowers. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sr., son Frank Jr., daughter Jean H. Bone, brothers Denzil and Donald LaFaver and her sister, Dorothy James. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael (Linda) Leszczewski and daughter, Phyllis (Dale) Kulczar. Her grandchildren: Debra (George) Rose, Steven Leszczewski, Chris (Jackie) Bone, Scott (Tia) Kulczar, Joseph Kulczar, Kimberly Ricketts, Catherine (James) Gillen and Tiffany Mark and Ryan (Kelly) Leszczewski. Great grandchildren: Denise (Chris) Branch, Kyle (Amy) Rose, Matthew Rose, Jasen Leszczewski, Katrina Leszczewski, Joshua (Christen) Leszczewski, Jeremy Ricketts, Jacob Ricketts, Madison Kulczar, Trevor Kulczar, Luke Kulczar, Joshua Kulczar, Joseph Kulczar Jr., Scott Mark, Whitney Mark, Michael Hodgson, Alexandra Gillen and James Michael Gillen. Great great grandchildren: Keisha Branch, Kayla Branch, Kourtney Branch, Kendra Branch, Mya Rose, Kaden Rose, Landon Rose, Emma Leszczewski, Noah Leszczewski, Isabella Ryans, Abigail Ryans, Brian Ryans Jr., Riley Rose and Jackson Kulczar. Also cherishing her memory are numerous nieces, nephews, their families and many, many friends. Ida was a member of Deer Run Church of Christ, South Bend, Indiana. The family would like to thank all of the people with Hospice for the loving and dignified care that our mother received during her last days. Friends will be received at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka on Saturday, May 25th, 2013 from 11:00am until the time of the funeral services at 1:00pm on Saturday. Ida had requested, that memorial contributions be made to Deer Run Church of Christ. To quote Ida," My length of life is in God's hands, but I thank Him for the many, many, blessings of love and friendship He has bestowed on me."
