Imogene Palmer Mersey, 95 of Blackwater, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at William Wood Funeral Home, 517 Fourth Street, Boonville, MO. The visitation will be one hour prior to services beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville, MO.
Imogene was born on March 25, 1920 in Columbia, Missouri to Ezra T. & Zola (Dailey) Palmer. She was united in marriage on November 25, 1959 to Eugene Mersey. Imogene was a homemaker but was known as the "Pie Lady of Blackwater" and owned the pie shop in town and She was also fondly know by all as Mammagene. She loved her cats and dogs, loved the theater in Blackwater and was an excellent seamstress and cook. Imogene made a lot of the costumes for the theater productions in Blackwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, Lester & Norris Palmer and 2 sisters, Hazel Callison and Arla Mae Marcum, and a grandson, Jim Bob Wells.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Bird and her husband, Marvin of Cape Girardeau, MO., and a son, Dean Vanlandingham of National City, CA., 3 grandsons, Bill Wells and wife, Shawn, Shannon Wells and wife, Jenny, and Darius Vanlandingham, 2 great-grandchildren, Avalyn and Ian Wells and many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all.. She is also survived by her niece and caregiver, Beverly Linhart, and good friends, Sue, Bonnie, Donna, John and Orland.
