Inez Finch Ducote of Kansas City, MO (previously of Corpus Christi & Bishop, Texas), born September 18, 1921, the daughter of Earl Finch and Edna Jane Cole-Finch, passed away July 31, 2017 in Kansas City, MO.

A beautiful, loving and nurturing lady (affectionately known as “THE LITTLE GENERAL” to her grandchildren) will be missed greatly by all that knew her, and especially the expansive family and legacy that she built while with us on this earth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 73 years, Harold Ducote; her oldest son, Harold A. Ducote, Jr.; and her beloved daughter, Mary Jane Ducote Peabody. She is survived by her sons, T. Stuart Ducote and Bryan J. Ducote; as well as her sister, Frances Holland. In addition, she is survived by countless nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other close friends.

Inez grew up in Shreveport, LA and met her husband in elementary school. She was a graduate of Baylor University, like so many of the “Greatest Generation”, dealt with the traumas of World War II, after growing up in the depression era. She raised her family in Bishop, TX and in Corpus Christi, TX, where she and Harold lived until moving to Kansas City, MO in 2007, to be closer to family. She and Harold dedicated their lives to their family, while dealing with the ravages that polio inflicted upon their lives. She taught school in the Corpus Christi Parochial School system for many years and she was a founding member, along with her husband, of the St. Pious X Catholic Parish. She was very devoted to her religion and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017, preceded by a rosary at 5:30 pm at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. The funeral mass will be at 11 am, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Parish Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Drive, Kansas City, MO 64118. She will be flown to Corpus Christi, TX, where the family will receive friends on Friday, August, 25, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Seaside Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. On Saturday morning, August, 26, 2017 at 10 am, a graveside burial service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park.
