Inge Pissowotzki, age 84, of McHenry, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born June 27, 1932 in Germany to Victor and Katharina (Gehu) Weber. Inge was a resident of McHenry for 32 years, and formerly of Fox River Grove. She worked in the advertising department of The Jewel Tea Company in Barrington. Inge was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Church and active with the Volunteer Altar Guild. She was also a member of the German Club. She loved needle point, crocheting, and weaving but above all, Inge was avid and talented knitter. She was known for beautifully crafted shawls, sweaters, scarves, and socks. For the past seven years, Inge belonged to the Ravelry knitting internet site and met new friends from all over the world who together shared their love of knitting. Inge is survived by her loving son, Kurt (Kathy Roepke) Schreiber; two grandchildren, Kurtis and Katie Schreiber; and her two sisters, Rita Barters and Lotte Pfeiffer. In addition to her parents, Inge was preceded in death by her husband Walter on January 24, 2010. Friends and neighbors may gather for a memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green Street, McHenry, IL 60050. Arrangements were entrusted to Justen Funeral Home & Crematory.
