Mrs. Irene Huston died at the age of 102 on Friday, January 26, 2018, in Clovis, CA.

Irene is preceded in death by her only son, Dale Colin Delphia, and her husband of 37 years, Don Huston. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Chris Gates-Delphia of Red Bluff, CA, and four granddaughters: Tracy Delphia of Enumclaw, WA; Diane Alves (Brian Alves) of Ballico, CA; Robin Lewis (Alan Lewis) of Cabool, MO; and Wendy Miller (John Miller) of Turlock, CA. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Sarah Watson (Jordan Watson) of Salem, MO and Kevin Moore (Amy Moore) of Spearfish, SD, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Irene was born on April 24, 1915, in Madera, CA to James and Lucille Ripperdan. She attended grammar school in Mendota, CA and graduated from Kerman High School in 1933. Never straying far from the Fresno area, Irene witnessed an abundance of change throughout her long life. As a team she and Don worked hard to build a thriving swimming pool business, Blue Dolphin Pools. They also loved the Huntington Lake area and spent as much time as possible in their cabin on the lake. They enjoyed entertaining and sharing their special place with others. and it was here that they first met Ilene and Cavin Gallagher with whom they remained lifelong friends.

Known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren, Irene enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques, and fishing at the lake. She was always impeccably dressed and found joy in helping others older than herself. It was important to her to pass down family stories and history and often spoke of her "Mama" and "Daddy" with great fondness. Up until she turned 100-years old, "Nanny" still drove herself to appointments and lived independently - a reflection of her lifelong courage and strength.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel in Fresno, CA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Irene's life.
