MORTER, Jack A., age 75 of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017. Jack was born on November 23, 1941 in Dayton to the late Orville and Ruth Black Morter. He was also preceded in death by his brother Tom. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda; daughter, Patti (Jeff) Pickrel; two grandchildren, Maggie and Max Pickrel; and his cousin Joy (James) Lawrence, who was like a sister to him. Jack was a graduate of Belmont High School, served in the U.S. Army, and retired from W.P.A.F.B. after 37 years. Jack had a kind, gentle nature and will be missed by many. When he wasn't studying history or genealogy, he could be found gardening or going for walks. Jack had a kind word for everyone and truly loved his family and friends. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the David's Cemetery Community Mausoleum Chapel, 4600 Mad River Rd., Kettering, Ohio 45429, with the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
