Jack Arthur Lind, 69, left this world on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born in Austin, Texas on September 22, 1947 to Arthur August Lind and Doris Dean Kelley Lind.

Jack loved sports of all kinds and was All City Running Back in 1966 from Travis High School. He was a passionate fan of many sports and loved to hunt, fish and grill outdoors, but nothing ignited his joy and passion more than life itself. He engaged in every endeavor with joy, humor and kindness.
The mention of his name immediately induces a smile from anyone who knew him. He truly had a heart of gold and didn't just always help anyone with anything they needed; but was often the first one to step up and do so. Jack never met a stranger and put people at immediate ease with his infectious and kind nature.

Family meant everything to him and he loved to spend time with both his family by birth and his family by choice. Jack and Cindy married in 1982 and remained constant and devoted companions through all kinds of weather.

Jack was at his core a kind and gentle spirit. As long as it involved the people he loved he was 'in'. The genuine joy that he had for people and the integrity with which he lived perforated all that he did and leaves a legacy of stories, memories and love that we will forever hold in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Michael Leon Clark. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Lind; his children, Brad Lind and wife, Marcy and Bretney Skipp and husband, Tom; as well as his grandchildren, Kaylee Lind, Brady Lind, Krista Skipp, and Tyler Skipp; brother, Mike Lind; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, August 7, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Brydon officiating.
