FLUGA, Jack, 92 passed away April 9, 2017, with family at his side. He was born in Shelbyville, Ill, and spent most of his adult life in Michigan before retiring to Florida in 1982. Jack is a retired Lieutenant of the Navy and served in World War II, where he was a rescue and recovery pilot. He is also a published author and enjoyed writing short stories to share with friends and family. Jack had strong religious beliefs and was of the Protestant Faith. He was predeceased by his wife, Norma Fluga; step-son, Gary Thorngate and is believed to be survived by three biological children, Janice, Mark and Donald, as well as grandchildren all last known of Michigan. He is survived by his three step-daughters who took care of him, Sandra Jessup, Robin Armour (David) of Battle Creek, Mich., Lisa Kennedy of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren who all loved him dearly. Entombment will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice or American Cancer Society in Mr. Fluga's memory.
