Jack D. Patton, 96, most recently of Maitland, FL, went home to his Lord on January 27, 2017. He was born in Huntington, WV on February 22, 1920 to the late Earl Desmond and Helen Catherine Patton. He also did additional graduate studies at Ball State. After graduating from Central High School in Columbus, OH, Jack worked at a Decorator & Window Dressers business (where he learned to sew). That was 1938. He enlisted in the Army on Oct 23, 1942 where he served in WWII as a Chaplain’s assistant. After the war he enrolled at Taylor University, Upland, IN and he graduated with a B.A. degree in 1952. Following his graduation he began his employment with Taylor in the Art Department where he became its head. He was able to receive his Master’s degree during this time from Ball State University. After his retirement from Taylor in 1979 he relocated to Florida. He lived in Bradenton, Ft. Lauderdale, and the Orlando areas.



Jack was a gifted evangelist, artist, and a tremendous friend. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.



Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 6-7pm at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte, 994 E Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. Service will take place at 7pm.



Interment will follow on Monday, February 6 at 12:30pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Hwy 1, Mims, FL.



In lieu of flowers, Jack requested donations be made in his memory to the Orlando Prayer and Worship Center, Orlando Prayer & Worship Center, 970 Tuskawilla Road, Winter Springs, FL 32708.
