Jack L. Ford of Country Club Road, Pickens, S.C. and son of George and Hazel Ford, passed away this past Monday, December 4th, and was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born November 25, 1929 in Springfield, Illinois. After graduation from high school, he married Betty R. Ford in 1948. While serving with the National Guard, he began work with Sangamo in Springfield, Ill. before moving with the company to Pickens, S.C. Sangamo – aka Schlumberger and then Cornell Dubilier. He served the company for 62 years as an industrial engineer, retiring in 2009. The company established a scholarship at Tri-County Tech in his name for his years of service, and teaching at Greenville Tech. After retirement, he devoted his energies and passions to the Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Easley, SC for 9 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty after 49 years of marriage in 1998. He is survived by three children who loved him deeply and respected his accomplishments in life – Larry Ford of China, Becky Brazier (Bob) of Franklin, N.C. and Rev. Mark Ford (Teresa) of Highlands, N.C. He is likewise survived by four grandchildren – Raquela Alexander, Paul Ford, Tori Brazier and Rob Brazier – and four great-grandsons. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Ford and sister Georgia Hansen of Illinois.

On April 29th, 2000 he married Eva Marie “Cissie” Ford, his loving wife who devotedly cared for him in his final days. He is survived by her children who loved and assisted them in many ways – Vincent Wade (Tracey and son Justin), Anthony Wade, Angela Bloomer (Matt and daughter Kennedy Grace) and Tina Marie Medlin (Jacky and daughter Abigail).

Flowers can be sent to Dillard Memorial Funeral Home of Pickens, SC, or memorial gifts given to the Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Easley, SC. Arrangements for the funeral service are Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 4:30 PM in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel. Receiving of friends will be held prior to the service from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
