JACK SCUDDER SNYDER, 84, of Harlan, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at his home. Born March 28, 1926, in Allen County, he was the son of the late Ray and G. Gay (Gorrell) Snyder. He was a retired farmer and retired teacher from Antwerp Local Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, Naomi; daughters, Dr. Peggy (Dr. David) Kovach of Greenwood, Ind. and Susan (Kim) Carder of Utica, Ky.; sons, Kevin (Holly) Snyder of Woodburn and Dr. Wayne (Dr. Cathy) Snyder of Greenwood, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchild ren; and sister, Jean Omo of Butler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Gorrell. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Harlan, with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Amy Beitelschees-Albers officiating. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the church. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or Antwerp Local Schools Teacher Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by Hockemeyer Funeral Home, Harlan.
