James was born on October 22, 1913 and passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017.

James was a resident of Louisiana at the time of passing.

He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1931 and worked as a pressman at the Texarkana Gazette until enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1941.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James A. Gabour Sr. will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in St. Frances Cabrini Church, with Rev. Chad Partain officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.
