A visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and a chapel service will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00am both at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, Kennesaw, GA. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park, Kennesaw, GA.

Jim never met a stranger, talking the ear off all who would listen. Jim was also a good listener and a lifelong learner. He was genuinely interested in people and learning about them and their experiences. Jim was also a teacher...ready to share his knowledge and experience with those that needed it. Many of those lessons started with "Now Buddy".

Jim was also a business man. He operated many businesses including Massey Trucking and Massey Tree Service, as well as his favorite hobby of wheeling and dealing; trading this for that plus another thing.

Jim was many things, but his favorite role, however, was that of being the husband of Georgianna Massey. They had a very special relationship that lasted 32 years, and the love between them was true and sweet to watch. After all these years, you could still see the love in their eyes when they talked to each other and flirted with each other.

Jim's second favorite role was being pawpaw to his grandkids. He would say that he was only "a little" wrapped around their fingers. He loved them and they loved him. Jim was also a father by choice. He stepped in and became a dad (not a stepdad), teaching his kids life lessons that they still hold on to today.

Jim will be missed by all.
