James Don Kinder passed away at his home in Seagoville on the morning of Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the age of 91.

James is preceded in death by parents, Everett Emuel and Lyda Bell Kinder, brother, Emuel Leon Kinder, his sisters, Ruby Joyce Newcomb and Helen Marie Marshall, his daughters, Patricia Mae Humphries and Sabrina Gay Kinder and grandson, Jeremy Kinder.

James is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou of 54 years. They were married on October 27, 1962.

James is lovingly remembered by wife, Mary Kinder of Seagoville; brothers, Jackie Kinder of Kaufman, David Kinder of Kaufman, Kenneth Kinder of California; sons, Donald and Mark Kinder; daughters, Shirley Hughes and Donita Zimmerman, his loving Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was born in Pottsville, Arkansas in 1925. He was the oldest of seven children and learned at a young age what hard work was all about, working in the field as sharecroppers with his parents to help provide for the family. He would often tell stories about traveling to school by foot up hill both ways in the cold snow, which we always found humorous but imagined held some truth. In his early 20's he moved to Texas to find work. He soon made Texas his home where he married and grew a family of his own that sprung 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. James had a love for the green courses, the iron clubs and thrill of a good golf game whether playing himself or watching it on television. He was a Jack Nicholson fan. Beyond the green golf courses, he prided himself on having a beautiful yard. He often had the prettiest yard in the neighborhood spending many weekends planting and watering flowers. Even after standing became hard he would set in a chair and move it from one flowerbed to another passing the time away perfecting his view. But above all of these things; his love for the Lord was what stood out the most. He proudly served in the church for more than 55 years. Telling people about Jesus was one of his greatest pleasures. He was a prayer worrier and the patriarch for the Kinder clan. He would never miss an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus and the way to Heaven. He made it his mission to be a disciple of Christ. We often teased him about his dinner prayers as he not only prayed over the food but also for all the lost souls in the room. We loved pretending like we fell asleep just to get a good laugh in. He truly lived a life pleasing to the Lord and know that today he is walking the streets of Gold with our Heavenly Father where there is no pain or suffering or bills. .
