James Edward Andrews (Eddie to family and friends), 97 years old, died February 22, 2017, surrounded by his family. But, do not be sad, because this man lived a long life filled to capacity with humor and wit, fortitude, integrity, and honesty.

Born in 1919 in Circleville, Ohio to Jesse and Relis Hildenbrand, he shared life on the farm with two brothers (Bill and Dick Hildenbrand) and two sisters (Rosemary Ankrom and June McAfee).

In 1942, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Ann, and began his career on the railroad. This job spanned 40 years and transferred the couple to many locations and homes throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.

Eddie and Marjorie had three daughters-Carolyn Brown of Huntsville, Ohio, Sallie Kay Houston of Dallas, Georgia, and Gaye Logan of Dallas, Georgia. In addition, he was blessed with seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.

After retirement from the railroad in 1981, Grandpa Ed was known for his classic train stories, baking endless supplies of cookies and fudge, and watching his favorite team, Ohio State. Go Buckeyes!!!

Eddie and Marj's love story continued for 75 years and is the timeless example of farm boy meets city girl and falls in love. This love was evident to all who knew them.

Eddie will always be remembered in our hearts as a true gentleman who was a classic example of pure kindness with a heart of gold.

Special thanks from the family to Angela Jackson who aided and supported him in his final months.
