James passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

James was a resident of Ohio at the time of passing.

Jim Matson graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1950 and began his career in Anesthesiology in 1959 at the White Cross Hospital before it reopened as Riverside Methodist Hospital in 1961.

After 38 years in the military, he retired as Captain, Medical Corps, U.S. Naval Reserve, having served active duty for the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Interment for both James E. Matson and Ruth R. Matson will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. in 2018.
