Mr. James Franklin Taylor, 85, of Hildebran, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Trinity Village Nursing Home, following a period of declining health.
Frank was born on May 14, 1931 in St. Augustine, FL, to the late Eugene David Taylor and Elsie Allran Taylor. He was a 1949 graduate of Hildebran High School and later attended Lenoir Rhyne University. Frank was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from North American Van Lines where he worked in transportation sales for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Whitener and her husband, SA Whitener.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne"Bonnie" Hogan Taylor of Hildebran, one son, John Taylor and wife Tara of Hickory and one daughter, Rita Maynor of Hildebran. Also surviving are four grandchidlren; Bradley Taylor and wife Sarah of Hickory, Jason Taylor and wife Elizabeth of Hickory, Drew Maynor and wife Vanessa of Morganton, and Dylan Maynor; two great grandchildren, Bryson Maynor and Brianna Maynor; one niece, Anita Bracebridge and husband Ron of Lexington, SC and numerous other nieces and nephews of Valdese and Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM Sunday May 14, 2017 at Hildebran United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Bowman officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Hildebran United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Village at 1265 21st St. NE Hickory, NC 28601.
