James Henry Boivin passed away on November 24, 2016 at the age of 89. He was born on February 2, 1927 in Detroit; son of Henry and Agnes (nee Landzion) Boivin. Jim graduated from St. Martin High School and Wayne State University. He was an accountant for General Motors retiring in 1982. Mr. Boivin was a man of strong faith and devotion to the Catholic Church. He served as a lay minister at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church for many years. After the church closed Jim was and active member of St. Joan of Arc Church in St. Clair Shores. He will be remembered for his friendly nature. He was a kind and giving soul that will be missed by everyone that knew him. He leaves behind his cousins Gerald Kennedy, Dave McCarron, Michelle Passinault, Kevin McCarron, and Sue Luzy. Mr. Boivin will lie instate on Monday, December 5th from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
