James Hodges, 91, went to meet his maker on July 6, 2017. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou Hodges; and his 10 children; Mary Alice, James Jr., Wally, Eloy, Maria, Linda, Betty, CJ, Anna & Norma Jean. As well as 73 Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren combined, and many many nephews & nieces. He was a loving father, and a great provider. James also leaves behind many personal friends.

He was born in Falfurrias, Texas and lived throughout South Texas but always kept San Benito close to his heart. As a young adult he served his country in the Army during WWII. After his Military Service he moved to Mesa Arizona and became a civil servant, working in Management for the Social Security Administration until retirement. During retirement his passions were his Family, the Church, and Service to others. Such as, Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight, Spenzil Murphy, Saint Vincent De Paul, Carmelites, Marriage Encounter and he even coached Little League.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Advantage Melcher Chapel Of The Roses, 43 S. Stapley Dr., Mesa AZ. Rosary service will begin at 6:30 pm.
Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, July 12 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1551 E. Dana Ave, Mesa AZ 85204 at 10:00 am, Committal will be at approximately 11:30 am at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Reception to follow at Christ the King Catholic Church.
