Mr. James Huey McIntosh, age 93, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017. A native and lifetime resident of Douglasville, Huey was born on August 24, 1923 and was a 1941 graduate of Douglas County High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country during WWII. Huey worked for 18 years with Swift and Company of Atlanta, was the owner of McIntosh Gulf Service Station in Douglasville, worked as a Service Writer for Bleakley Ford and Thornton Chevrolet, and retired from Jim Tidwell Ford. He enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing and wood working and was a Douglas County history buff.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Georgia McIntosh, on September 12, 2016; his parents, Ernest and Louise Huey McIntosh; and sister, Abbie Mae Abercrombie.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Mike) Motes; brother, Dan McIntosh; grandchildren, Steven (Connie) Motes, Staci (Christian) Lawrence and Betsy (Chuck) Craig; great-grandchildren, Mason Lawrence, Mallory Lawrence, Magan Lawrence and Manning Lawrence.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Lamar Rackley, Reverend Virgil Smith and Reverend Gene Fields officiating. Interment will be in the Douglasville City Cemetery.
