James J. "Jim" Robinson, 91, of Fort Wayne passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was born on January 30, 1925, a son of the late Boyd and Bertha Marie (Gram) Robinson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Prior to his military service, he worked at the News Sentinel newspaper. He also worked as a salesman for Adam H. Bartell Co. before retiring in 1993. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brooklyn Ave. and also St. Vincent De Paul Society. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. Surviving family include his wife of 69 years, Jean; children, Steve (Lulu) Robinson, Mary Robles, Laura Frederick, Jim (Angela) Robinson, Diane Robinson; four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his daughter, Linda Richardson, sister, Betty Robinson, and son-in-law, Denny Robles. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight Northeast Indiana or Canine Companions for Independence.
