James L. "Jim" Arnold of Pensacola, FL, passed away suddenly on May 14, 2017. Born on September 21, 1942, in Birmingham, Alabama, Jim was the only child of Ethel Donaldson Arnold and Chester Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Webb Arnold, mother of Tracy, Penny, and Ian. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ann Arnold; children Tracy Peyton (Earl), Penny Arnold (Monroe Golden), Ian Arnold (Brooke Seely), Dani Carter Oleson (Greg), and Jan Carter Reed; grandchildren Katelyn Peyton, Aiden and Cooper Arnold, Jenner Golden, and Kenneth and Daniel Oleson; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Jim grew up in Morris, Alabama, and graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School, where he was a well-known football player. He later lived in Panama City, Florida; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Gulf Breeze, Florida. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and hard-working provider. Most of his work life was in sales. In retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling widely with his wife, Ann, playing golf, and reading-especially history. He was a member of the Hackers and enjoyed golfing with many friends, especially at Quail Ridge, Tiger Point, and Marcus Pointe golf courses. Throughout his life he was an enthusiastic Alabama football fan.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 18, at 2:00 p.m., at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, Pensacola, FL.
A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, at 4:00 p.m., visitation beginning at 2:30 p.m., at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, AL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arnold's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or your local VFW Chapter.
