James "Chippy" Patrick D'Andrea, 75, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 19th, 2018. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey to James and Virginia D'Andrea, he lived most of his life in New Jersey before moving to Arizona in 2011.

James served his country as he was an E4 - Specialist in the US Army from 1962-1965. After his time in the military, he worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2003. In his free time, he loved to play golf, shoot pool, watch sports, listen to music including anything from Doo Wop to Led Zepplin and enjoyed time with his buddies at the pool hall. His favorite meal was a glass of red wine and a bowl of mussels fra diavolo. James was a huge fan of the Little League World Series every August and he would often be a fixture at his son James' softball games. He showed up so much, they even had a Fan Appreciation Night in his honor and presented him with a commemorative bobblehead.

James was a thoughtful and caring father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was extremely loved by his family and friends and his presence will be missed greatly. He is survived by his three children, Michael D'Andrea, Eva Marie D'Andrea and James D'Andrea and his wife Alyssa; his two sisters, Dolores Norcia and her husband Bobby and Barbara Smith; his two grandchildren Madison and Mikey; as well as his loving nieces, cousins, and other friends. James is predeceased by his parents James and Virginia D'Andrea.

The wake will be held from 2:00-6:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale, AZ on Friday, January 26th. James will be laid to rest at 10:00 AM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, AZ on Saturday, January 27th.
