FLINT, James Phillip (J.P./Jim), 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday evening, March 28, 2017 at LifePath Hospice of Sun City Center, FL.
J.P. retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 29 years and from the U.S. Postal Service after 15 years of service. He loved all sports and played many; including baseball, basketball, golf and bowling. He enjoyed playing poker and the pleasure of a good cigar.
His real passion was his family. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Carol. They had 2 daughters, a son, 8 granddaughters and 1 great grandson (finally a boy !) He was excited to learn there were 2 more greats on the way; both boys !
Daughter Deanna Faye Ivey has 1 daughter, Amanda Marerro; married to Kenny, and are expecting Hunter Russell in June.
Daughter Marcy Lynn Logue, married to Matt, and was blessed with 5 girls.
Christine Mae Chen, married to Ping, has Kai, a handsome 2 year old who's is looking forward to brother Carson Ping in August.
Other family members include Jesse Marie Flint, Charlie Renee Hale, Alexandra Nicole Torres and Angel Rose Mixon.
Son James has 2 daughters, Haylee Ana Padolik and Alyssa Eugene Flint.
J.P. is also survived by his loving sister, Lorraine Bell as well as many other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to all who visited during this difficult time, as well as the LifePath Hospice staff.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with funeral service at 2:00 p.m.; burial to follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
