James "Jim" R. Beggerly, Jr



James "Jim" Raleigh Beggerly, Jr., passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 27, 2017.



Born August 2, 1949 in Jackson, Mississippi he was a son of the late James R. and Clay Evans Beggerly.



Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Linda Beggerly; his children, Kathryn Corbin and her husband Scott, Brian Beggerly and his wife Candice, Jennifer Nulty, and Sarah Beggerly; his grandchildren, Victoria, Evelyn, and Olivia; and his brother, Clay Beggerly and his wife Kathy. Jim will also be sorely missed by other family and friends.



Jim served his country in the US Navy, where he met his wife Linda. He was also very active supporting the Boy Scouts as a scout master for several years; he was an eagle scout and an active member of the Order of the Arrow. Jim was an avid collector of Boy Scout patches and memorabilia. He enjoyed family trips to Gulf Shores in Alabama and rousing his children out of bed at un-holy hours in the morning to go shell hunting. Jim had a deep interest in Native American ancestry.



Jim was proud of his children and all of their accomplishments and loved his wife deeply.



A remembrance gathering will be held 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Teague Funeral Home.



A private family inurnment will take place at Monticello Memory Gardens with military honors at a later date.



Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to Boy Scouts of America, 801 Hopeman Parkway, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
