James Ray Taylor, age 78, of Brookfield, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Life Care Center of Brookfield.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Park Baptist Church with Reverend David Blakely officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Park Baptist Church. Memorials have been suggested to Life Care Center Activities Fund and may be left at or sent to the funeral home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. On-line registry at www.rhodesfh.com

James Ray, son of Harold Woodrow Taylor and Martha Ellen Boley, was born on March 16, 1939 in Brookfield, Missouri. James was a self-employed salesman and a member of the Park Baptist Church, Brookfield. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, trapping, playing card games, playing guitar and singing, storytelling, telling corny jokes, and most of all spending time with family and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Ronna, of the home, three sons, Chris Taylor and wife Melanie; Brent Taylor, and Kent Taylor; three step-daughters, Tanjua Waddle and husband Bill; Jennifer Trusty; and Rosalee O'Bryan and husband Zane; two brothers, Gary Taylor and wife Eilene; and Lester Taylor and wife Judy; one brother-in-law Larry Divine; eighteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and one sister, Carol Divine
