ELLOREE - A funeral service for James Ronald “Ronnie” Sikes, 66, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Sikes Family Cemetery in St. Matthews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mr. Sikes died Saturday, May 20, 2017. Born in Orangeburg, S.C., he was a son of the late Norman Fleetwood “Bubba” Sikes and Nora Ellen Spigner. He was a graduate of Lower Richland High School and attended Morehead State University in Kentucky. He retired from SCE&G, Wateree Station. He worked in the family BBQ business, Sikes BBQ, and was the owner of Elloree Square Antique Mall and the Blues Alley as well as Lake Marion Properties Real Estate. He was a member of Lower Richland Masonic Lodge #402 and Eason Memorial Baptist Church in Eastover. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Surviving are his wife, Linda L. Sikes of Elloree, S.C.; sons, Bubba Sikes (Sandy) of St. Matthews, and Cory Childers (Becky); daughters, Stephanie Sikes of West Columbia, Rhonda Schaeffer (Ronnie), and Candice Henderson (Zack), both of Ringgold, Ga.; brothers, Allen Sikes (Karen) and David Sikes; grandchildren, McKenzie Sikes, Tyler Cogburn, Tyler Garrett, Dalton Wise, Reagan LeeAnn Childers, Nelson David Childers, Kyle Burriss (Meghan), Collin Burriss, Brett Wooten (Katie), Alex Wooten, and Savannah Healey (Tom); three great-grandchildren, Kinsley Wooten, Lewis Healey, and Elysia Wooten; aunt, Lois Sikes; numerous nieces and nephews; and his service dog, BlackBerry.
