James William"Slippery" Ryan Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 72. He was born on Wednesday, December 18, 1946 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Eva "Frosty" Arceneaux Ryan and the late James "Billy" Ryan Sr. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. James served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war from 1967 to 1969.

James is survived by his daughter, Jamie Ryan Meades and husband Stanley "Larice" Meades Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Jarrid and Kaye Ryan; grandson, Ryan Meades; granddaughters, Caroline Meades, Koree and Kasidee Ryan, and Kaylee Hendrix; sister and brother-in-law, Veronica "Chicken" and Tony Souza; and brother and sister-in-law, Alvin "Punkin" and Nancy Ryan.

In addition to his parents, James is also preceded in death by his wife, Coleen Porta Ryan and his brothers, John "Red" Kraft, Jr., and Charles "Daigo" Kraft.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 am until 2:00 PM.
