Jane Hogan died peacefully in her sleep early Sunday, January 17, after 90 years of service to her family, her friends, and her God. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gordon. Born to Eustace and Gladys (Bonfoey) McAuley, she was the youngest girl in a family of seven children. She is survived by two brothers, Arthur Lee McAuley and Fred McAuley. Deceased siblings are Eustace McAuley, Harriet Adler, Ethel Harper and Mildred Nabatoff. She is survived by three children: Beth (Mike) James of Searcy, Dave (Debbie) Hogan of Singapore and Julie (Ron) Garner, of Dexter, Missouri. Eight grandchildren include: Jennifer (Aaron) Green of N. Richland Hills, Texas.; Jeremy (Jennifer) James, Jessica (Cliff) Collins, and Jonathan (Jenna) James, all of Searcy; Breda Hogan of Austin, Texas. ; and Bobby (Candice) Garner, Alex Garner, and Sam (Nicole) Garner, all of Dexter. Jane enjoyed the blessing of twelve great-grandchildren. Jane leaves behind a host of friends and family worldwide. She and Gordon made a remarkable partnership as they led mission work in Pakistan and Singapore for 33 years. She was raised in Savannah, Georgia, and kept her gentile southern drawl that was a well-known trait to her friends. Her family members smile as they happily recall her and try to mimic her spunky spirit and infectious laugh that was so delightful in her sub-five-foot frame. But that small package delivered powerfully! Jane mentored many with her kitchen prowess, and frequently acted as nurse or mama away from home. Her home was aptly called the Hogan Hotel because of her hospitality. Friends and family will find a tremendous void in their lives. But all are very happy for her victory, which is assured by her dedication to her Savior. Visitation will be Thursday morning at 9 at the College Church of Christ, with the celebration of her life to follow at 10am with Noel Whitlock and Bruce McLarty officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy. Memorials may be made in her name to College Church of Christ, Searcy, for the building fund of the Moulmein Church of Christ in Singapore.
